Who We Are...

A Women-owned Business Enterprise (WBE), ASI was founded in 1984 by Karen E. Ridgway who continues to serve as the President and Principal Engineer of ASI.  ASI provides services on numerous small and large projects for municipal and private clients.


 

 

Applied Science, Inc. (ASI) has specialized in providing excellent and state-of-the-art civil and environmental services for large and small water supply, water resource and wastewater infrastructure projects for more than 35 years.   ASI has extensive experience in the computational modeling of flows in water transmission/distribution systems, sewers and tunnels, pumping stations, forcemains, and the liquid and sludge streams at water and wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). The engineers at ASI are experts in this field and have successfully provided services on numerous pumping station designs for water, wastewater, and sludge. Also, ASI has analyzed transients and surges in numerous existing and proposed tunnels, relief sewers and forcemains, and has developed operational control strategies and designed surge control facilities for these systems.The engineers at ASI are innovative and up-to-date on design standards, regulations and operational and maintenance (O&M) issues concerning potable water treatment and distribution, sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) and combined sewer overflow (CSO) control, wastewater collection, storm water, floodplains, drainage, and wastewater treatment.  The firm currently employs civil and environmental engineers, CADD designers, field technicians and support staff.  ASI brings a qualified, experienced, and integrated organization that will meet the challenges of any project.
